Summer may be over, but the fun never ends in Central Ohio! Get into the spirit of fall with this list of upcoming fall festivals and indoor exhibits. These are a great way to spend your time this September!

Sept. 9: The Monarch Art Project: From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Franklin Park Conservatory, create collaborative art with the colors and patterns of Monarch butterflies! This is free with admission, and great for families. You can also enjoy butterfly releases at 1 and 3 p.m. daily.

Sept. 8-9: Lithopolis Honeyfest: If you love honey, you’ll love this event! Watch honey being extracted from the comb, observe hive inspection, see a queen and her colony behind glass and more, all while sampling honey in a variety of colors, flavors and textures.

Sept. 16-17: 43rd Annual Short North Tour of Homes & Gardens: Tour the most unique homes in Columbus! On Sept. 16, attend the pre-tour party at the ‘Circus House’ from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday is the general tour from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. From penthouses to treehouses, you’ll see a bit of everything!

Sept. 16-17: Grove City Arts in the Alley: This free event takes place at Grove City Town Center and features more than 100 juried exhibitors. Browse and shop among art, photography, jewelry, crafts, glasswork, pottery and more. Enjoy live entertainment as well!

Sept. 16-23: Delaware County Fair: There is something for everyone at the Delaware County Fair! Enjoy carnival rides, a petting zoo, a slew of live entertainment, exhibits, competitions, amazing food and more. The All Horse Parade takes place on Sept. 10 in downtown Delaware.

Sept. 22-24: Columbus Oktoberfest: This takes place at Ohio Expo Center. Soak in German music, dancing, food, beer and snacks while shopping among vendors. Bring kids to Kinderplatz, where they can enjoy a variety of kid-friendly activities. It is all held in open-air pavilions, so you can enjoy in any weather!

Sept. 30: Applefest at Lawrence Orchards: Apple season runs throughout the fall season, but on Sept. 30, Lawrence Orchards holds an old-fashioned festival with crafts, a hay maze, horse-drawn wagon rides, pony rides, bluegrass music and plenty of apples.

Street closings begin at 11 a.m., with events starting at noon. Parade steps off the Main Street Bridge at 6 p.m. Fireworks at 10 p.m.

July 4^th – Worthington Family Picnic & Fireworks: Enjoy an old-fashioned Fourth on the lawn of Thomas Worthington High School. The celebration includes food, live music, games and much more! Event begins at 4:00 p.m. with fireworks at 10:00 p.m.

July 4^th – City of Dublin Independence Day Celebration: 70’s rock legend Peter Frampton headlines the City of Dublin’s Independence Day Celebration. The fun begins with a parade at 11:00 a.m., live music begins at 4:30 p.m. All guests four and older will need a stadium wristband to enter. July 4^th – Upper Arlington Fourth of July Celebration: This all-day, family-friendly event begins with a parade at 9:00 a.m. “Party in the Park” follows at 5:00 p.m., and an impressive fireworks display begins at 10:00 p.m.

July 7-9 – Ohio Wine Festival at North Market: The Ohio Wine Festival brings Ohio’s finest wineries together at North Market. Various ticket levels, starting at $25 in advance, $30 at the door. All admissions include a $5 North Market Food Voucher, 10 wine tasting tickets, and a souvenir wine glass, while supplies last. ID required. Wine tasters must be 21 and older.

July 15-22 – Franklin County Fair: Located in Hilliard, this traditional Ohio county fair brings you classic family fun. Enjoy exhibits, farm animals, carnival rides and games, plus special grandstand entertainment.

July 21 – A Taste of Worthington: This outdoor food festival has a block-party atmosphere while being family-friendly. Sample wares from local restaurants, caterers, bakeries and others in the food industry. Play area with activities for the kids. 5:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.

July 21-23 – Columbus Jazz and Ribs Fest: Experience 3 stages of live music, featuring local, regional and international jazz artists. March 31-April 2. Columbus Home Improvement Show. Held at Cardinal Hall at the Ohio Expo Center. Browse hundreds of informative displays by contractors, home service providers and vendors. See demos for home improvement projects and enjoy

April 1. Columbus College of Art & Design Art Fair. Explore and purchase exceptional creations by CCAD students and alumni. Early bird, “first look” admission at 9 a.m. is $20; general admission at 11:00 a.m. is $5.  Art sale proceeds go directly to the artists, and proceeds from ticket sales support student programming.

April 8. Easter Bunny Brunch at Columbus Zoo & Aquarium. 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the Africa Event Center. Enjoy a breakfast buffet and an Easter Bunny photo op! Also features animal encounters and face-painting for the kids. Pricey, so plan ahead: $30 members, $40 non-members. Advance registration required.

April 15. Upper Arlington Easter Candy Hunt at Thompson Park, 10 a.m. sharp; get there early for parking and group assignment! Separate search area provided for kids with special needs.  For kids ages 9 and younger. Thomas Chocolates will provide prizes for those who find the rare Golden Eggs.

April 15. Westerville Bunny Hop 5k and Spring Eggstravaganza. Held at the Westerville Sports Complex. Egg hunt at 10 a.m. for kids 10 years old and younger. Get there early for age group assignment! Kidz Zone opens at 9 a.m. with inflatables, games, petting zoo and crafts. The Bunny Hop 5k is at 8 a.m., open to runners and walkers of all ages.

 April 19-23. 65th Columbus International Film & Video Festival. The oldest film festival in the United States! Presented by Columbus College of Art & Design, the festival showcases independent student and professional films from around the world. For more information, visit columbusfilmfestival.org.

March 11 through September 17. Blooms and Butterflies: Franklin Park Conservatory, Columbus. Need a quick dose of spring? Experience the splendor of hundreds of live, colorful butterflies in flight among fragrant blooms. Newly-emerged butterflies are released daily at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

March 11 & 12. Columbus Kids Winter Fun Festival/All About Cats Expo: Ohio Expo Center, Columbus. Two separate events held in the Buckeye Building, pay one admission fee and gain entry to both! The “Kids Winter Fun Festival” offers crafts, obstacle courses, pony rides, petting zoo, kids karaoke contest, carnival games, contests, live entertainment and more.

The “All About Cats Expo” is a judged domestic cat show with dozens of breeds. There’s also a cat agility course demonstration, pet product vendors, and opportunities to adopt a pet. See website for admission fees and details!

March 18. St. Patrick’s Celebration and Parade: Dublin. Events begin at 7:30 a.m. with a Pancake Breakfast, followed by a 100-unit parade at 11 a.m. which marches through Historic Dublin. After the parade, enjoy the Blarney Bash with live entertainment, food, beverages and family activities. Admission $10 day of event, discounted tickets online.

March 25. Columbus Spring Avant-Garde Art & Craft Show: Makoy Event Center, Hilliard. Featuring original handmade works in a variety of mediums. Food and drink available on-site. A portion of proceeds benefit Hope Hollow. Admission $3 for adults, free for children under 12.

March 25 & 26. Antique Market: Ohio Expo Center, Columbus. Free admission! Over 800 exhibition booths filled with treasures from yesteryear and a variety of collectibles. Browse and buy from premier collectors from around the country. Last show until November!
