]]> Is it just me, or have temperatures been in triple-digits for the majority of the summer? Don’t let the cold winters fool you—summers in the Columbus area can be incredibly hot. I, of course, always make it a priority to stay in-tune with what’s happening in several communities throughout Central Ohio in order to provide superior service to my Buyer Clients. So when I see that the weather in the area is still in the upper 80’s and lower 90’s, (and stormy, to boot), I look for ways to stay cool in the area. There are several, but I thought I’d share a few ideas:

1.    Go to the Ohio Theater and enjoy a film from the CAPA Movie Series. The longest-running classic film series in America turns 42 this year, and it’s the ideal way to enjoy a hot and muggy summer afternoon. Tickets can be purchased through the end of this month, and at only $4.00 per ticket same day, it’s an affordable excursion. Enjoy some of American cinema’s wonderful classics. This week, view the James Bond favorite “Goldfinger”, starring Sean Connery. For a full schedule of summer films, simply visit the organization’s website.
2.    Spend a day at the museum. Whether you’re an art aficionado, history buff or science geek, you will undoubtedly find a museum in the Columbus area that piques your interest. From the COSI to the Ohio Historical Center to the Columbus Museum of Art, there are a number of local places where you can go to get your share of educational fun. They’re also family-friendly destinations, so you can make a day of it with the kids.
3.    Cool off at Scioto Mile’s fountain. If all else fails and you want to spend the day outside, head to the fountain system at Scioto Mile Park. The crown jewel of the local attraction, many choose to cool off here. The large and spacious fountain is fun for people of all ages and enjoyed by many during their park visits.

These are just a few of the many ways you can cool off in the Columbus area. Many of the surrounding communities also offer public pools and local movie theaters as well. Since I’m so familiar with many towns outside of the Columbus, I’d be happy to let you know how where the local “cool spots” are in your individual area.
