At the current rate of growth, Grove City could become the largest suburb in Metro Columbus by 2020! Currently, Dublin is the largest suburb in Metro Columbus, with 45,568 residents.

What’s drawing people to Grove City? As we pointed out in one of our prior blog posts, Grove City began as a modest pioneer village in the 1850’s, but has become a significant economic hub that is home to over 1,000 businesses. Employment growth has helped fuel a local real estate boom, with median home prices up about 30% since 2013.

New residents are also attracted to Grove City for its historic, walkable downtown and variety of amenities. Community events are numerous. One such example is the annual Grove City Homecoming Celebration, coming up on July 28, 2017, located in the Grove City Town Center.

Despite a steady rise in median home prices, Grove City remains affordable for home buyers, thanks to a variety of housing stock. Median home prices are hovering around $187,700, but inventory priced under $200,000 is becoming lean.

The redevelopment of Beulah Park, a former horseracing site consisting of 212 acres, will attract new residents who are looking for an urban lifestyle within a small-town atmosphere. Concepts for Beulah Park include hundreds of new residential units, along with office and retail space, and a 50-acre community park. The new, walkable community will connect to the Grove City Town Center. The exact details of the development plan are still underway, and can be followed at the Facebook page and the city website.

Grove City’s business growth has not compromised the small-town feel of the historic Town Center. This walkable, downtown area is well-kept and seasonally decorated. It is home to The Little Theater Off Broadway and many unique stores and restaurants. The Town Center hosts community gatherings and festivals throughout the year, including a farmer’s market, summer concerts, a wine and arts festival and holiday events.

The Grove City public park system contributes to the excellent quality of life enjoyed by residents, with about 500 acres of managed parkland and facilities. The park system offers recreational programming for aquatics, environmental education, preschool classes, youth and teen enrichment, child care, gardening and special events. There are various sports programs for youth, teens and adults, as well as senior activities.

Grove City also has 25 miles of paved bicycle trails and routes. These routes provide safe access and recreation for bicyclists, pedestrians and inline skaters.

Public education in Grove City is provided by the South-Western City Schools District. Two of the districts four high schools are located in Grove City: Grove City High School and Central Crossing. These well-regarded high schools offer educational and cultural diversity, and feature an abundance of extracurricular activities. There are also five elementary schools in Grove City, along with two middle schools.

The Grove City Center for Higher Education and Harrison College offer a wealth of degree programs and opportunities for continuing education.

Homes in Grove City are affordable, with single-family homes in good condition available for less than $200,000. There are many home styles to choose from, with luxury amenities found in the $300’s and up.
