According to a 2020 study by SmartAsset, reported in Columbus Business First, Worthington homeowners have held their properties for an average of <strong>24.8</strong> years. The national average for home retention is 13 years.</p>
<p>Long-term home ownership is also found in Pickerington, where homeowners have stayed in their residences for an average of <strong>23.7</strong> years. Delaware homeowners have been sticking around for an average of <strong>18</strong> years.</p>
<p>These embedded homeowners are reaping the benefits of wise home purchases in the past. For example, Worthington residents are spending an average of just <strong>18%</strong> of their income on home ownership costs.</p>
<p>Worthington’s low ratio of distressed property, home ownership length and home value appreciation earned it the title of “Most Stable Housing Market in Ohio” by SmartAsset.</p>
<p>Earlier this year, SmartAsset named Pickerington and Hilliard among the “Top 10 Housing Markets in Ohio” based on neighborhood stability, speed of home sales, and home prices relative to income.</p>

<p>According to Columbus Business First, <a href="http://homes.buyershome.com/i/hilliard-homes-for-sale">Hilliard</a> places at <strong>#10</strong> in the list of 50 Hottest Zip Codes in the U.S. for home sales. An influx of young adults is behind the surge, as evidenced by Millennials possessing <strong>41%</strong> of the new mortgages on record. The home ownership rate among Millennials residing in zip code 43026 is an admirable <strong>59%</strong>.</p>
<p>Just how popular is Hilliard? The pace of 2017 home sales suggests it’s among the top choices for today’s buyers, with homes selling in about 25 days on average. This is 37% faster than the pace of last year’s home sales, which were already brisk.</p>
<p>With popularity comes higher prices. Hilliard home prices increased <strong>24.8%</strong> from 2016, reaching a median list price of <strong>$259,011</strong>.</p>

Median sales prices increased by <strong>5.5%</strong> in Central Ohio on a year-over-year basis. The pace of sales was also brisk, with single-family home and condominium sales up by <strong>4.8%</strong> compared to a year ago. August 2016 marks the most active August market on record.</p>
<p>Limited home inventory has been an ongoing challenge. Officially, Metro Columbus home inventory in August 2016 was down by <strong>21</strong>% compared to a year ago. We say “officially” because industry statistics based on the Columbus Regional Multiple Listing Service do not count homes For Sale by Owner, or homes for sale by builders. Our true home inventory is always a little higher than what is statistically reported.</p>

<p>Hilliard residents enjoy many <a href="http://www.hilliardohio.gov/live" class="broken_link">community events</a> throughout the year, including a 4<sup>th</sup> of July celebration and a Fall Festival. Hilliard provides ample recreation for its citizens with public parks, sports fields, tennis courts, two community pools, a senior center and a community center.</p>

<p>Hilliard schools are well-regarded, and all three high schools in the City of Hilliard are recognized for excellence by U.S. News and World Report. <a href="http://www.usnews.com/education/best-high-schools/ohio/districts/hilliard-city" class="broken_link">Darby High School, Bradley High School and Davidson High School each received a Silver ranking in 2014</a>.
