When I work with my Buyer Clients on finding their perfect home, I have to sell the community to them. If one of my clients isn’t happy with the neighborhood that they choose to move to, then they won’t ever be fully satisfied in their home, either. One of the best things about the Columbus area is that the people who live there are so supportive of one another. Thousands of women are affected by breast cancer each year, and it’s our job as a community to support our loved ones, friends and neighbors who go through it. Currently my wife is undergoing breast cancer radiation treatment so I know first hand as a support partner the importance to find a cure!

Each of the fun events happening around town this month is designed to raise awareness about breast cancer and raise money for research. Here are some of the ones that look particularly promising:

Join Columbus Marathon for the Cure. On Sunday, October 16^th, a team represented by Komen Columbus will be participating in the Columbus Marathon. Whether you run, walk, want to do half of the distance or the whole thing, you can join their team and get moving for breast cancer! If you’re not interested in participating in the marathon itself, you can volunteer from 6-9:30am at the Mile 2 Water Stop.

Eat a slice at Pizza Rustica. On Wednesday, October 19^th between 6:00-9:00pm, have some pizza at Pizza Rustica. Located at The Ohio State University, this delicious eatery is donating 15% of all sales to Komen Young Professionals Programming. Whether you eat at the restaurant or have it delivered, you will be benefitting a great cause.

Have a drink at Hot Pink Happy Hour. Even if you don’t frequent happy hours on a regular basis, head to Woodlands Tavern in Grandview on Thursday, October 27^th. From 6:00-8:00pm, rock out with the Hot Pink Racers and enjoy fantastic happy hour specials, including $2.00 drafts. All proceeds of the event will benefit Komen Columbus.

All of these events will both entertain you AND allow you to support an important cause. As an Exclusive Buyer’s Broker in the Columbus, OH area, I publicize events like these to my sphere of influence in order to promote the community togetherness that the metro Columbus region is so known for.
