Forbes’ methodology looked at quality of life and economic data for the 50 most populated cities in the U.S. The study compared median housing costs, costs of living, employment conditions, median incomes, lifestyle factors and the desirability of the area.

Columbus ranked well in all categories, but placed especially well for affordable housing and employment conditions. According to Forbes, Columbus has a median monthly housing cost of $1,203, while the median family income was $63,284. The employment rate in Columbus at the time of the study was an enviable 97%.

Strong employment and economic opportunities, coupled with some of the best housing value in the U.S., continues to make Columbus a destination of choice for home buyers and renters.
