As the oldest Exclusive Buyer’s Broker in the Central Ohio area, I serve many different towns and cities surrounding Columbus. This includes Worthington, a suburb located about 18-20 minutes from the downtown area that also happens to be where our corporate office is located. One of the many reasons that we love Worthington is its prosperous and charming atmosphere. Although you are in close proximity to a large city, you still get a small-town, close-knit feel when you live there. This is especially worthwhile during a holiday weekend, as you get to partake in festivities with your entire neighborhood.

With Memorial Day weekend just days away, I thought that I’d do a little digging and see what Worthington has planned for the remainder of the month. Summer is quickly approaching, and along with that comes several community events and gatherings that you can enjoy. As your Central Ohio Exclusive Buyer’s Agent, I make it a priority to stay in-the-loop about community happenings in order to help my Buyer-Clients become acclimated to their new neighborhood. The sooner they get out there and enjoy everything that their new community has to offer, the sooner it will feel like home.

The end of May is going to be filled with fun in Worthington! Here are some of the upcoming events that you’re bound to enjoy:

Saturday, May 26th
Olde Worthington Farmer’s Market, Downtown Worthington
9:00am-12:00pm
If there is one word that I typically associate with Memorial Day, it’s barbecues. It’s the holiday that marks the beginning of summer; therefore people want to celebrate it outside with their favorite seasonal foods. At the Olde Worthington Farmer’s Market, you can find fresh produce, baked goods and handmade crafts for your summertime get-togethers. You’ll be supporting local farmers and artisans in the area as you find the perfect, fresh items for your favorite summertime meals. This weekly market is also the ideal place to meet up with others in the community.

Sunday, May 27th
Family Concerts on the Green Series, Village Green
7:00pm-8:30pm
Remember the days of Motown, the Eagles, John Mellencamp and Earth Wind and Fire? Get taken back there during this community concert event. Fanklin Xpress is a four-piece band that will get you out of your chair and dancing. The classics they play will be family favorites, and it’s one of many concerts that you will be able to enjoy this summer.

Monday, May 28th
The Memorial Day Parade, Begins at High Street and Dublin Granville Road
10:00am
This community-wide celebration begins with a commemoration at 6:00 am on the Village Green. Immediately following this memorial to our nation’s troops, head to High Street and Dublin Granville Road and watch the parade begin. Many local groups and organizations will be participating, and it’s the perfect way to kick off your day-long festivities. It’s an ideal excuse to regroup with your community and pay tribute to our nation’s real heroes: the men and women in our armed services.

With all of these community-centric events occurring this holiday weekend, you should be ready and raring for summer in no time! As your Central Ohio real estate and community expert, I think that it’s important to stay in-the-know about the areas I service in order to help my Buyer-Clients get acclimated to their new home. One of the best things about Worthington is its small-town feel, and the close-knit atmosphere will come through during this weekend’s events.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the cities and towns surrounding the Columbus, OH area! I’d be happy to give you more information about the various communities. I hope to hear from you soon!
