It’s that time of year. People are decorating their homes with Jack O’Lanterns and spooky decorations, starting to buy treats to give out on Halloween night and picking out the costumes they plan to wear. While Halloween is still a couple of weeks away, the Columbus metropolitan area has already started celebrating. There are several fun-filled community events that you can enjoy leading up to October 31st, and as always, my goal is to keep my readers informed about them.

One of the things that I have found attracts home buyers to Columbus and its surrounding communities is the never-ending list of things to do. This Halloween is no exception. Put the finishing touches on your costume, round up your family and attend one of these awesome, spooktacular events!

Dark Woods Theatre Company: The Experience Haunted Attraction
Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays thru October 31st-8:00pm-12:00am
10000 Marysville Road, Ostrander
This eerie experience is not for the faint of heart or easily frightened, but it is definitely a Halloween attraction in the Columbus area that you won’t soon forget. The scares won’t come from gore, rubber masks, fake monsters or chainsaws. Instead, it’ll come from a legend of a lost girl and an eerie presence in the woods. You get the full experience for only $15.00. Enjoy, and remember: don’t get lost, or you could meet the same fate as the girl in the story you’ll hear about on this adventure.

The Scare-a-Torium
Friday-Sunday thru November 3rd-7:30pm-12:00am
Dublin Village Shopping Center, Dublin
Considered one of Ohio’s biggest and best Halloween attractions, the Scare-a-Torium offers a multitude of fun frights for your enjoyment. Get the ultimate fear experience in the Rip Stinkers Funhouse and Toxic LYNCOM Lab. You can enjoy any and all experiences in 3D, which adds to the fun factor. If you’re looking for some Halloween-related items, just stop at the Scare Store on your way out. You won’t find a more family-friendly and festive attraction anywhere else in the Dublin area!

Nightmare at the Museum
October 25th, 2012-6:00-8:00pm
Columbus Museum of Art
Whether you prefer to steer clear of scares or embrace them, you’ll find something at the Columbus Museum of Art’s Nightmare at the Museum event next week! From grim reaper tours to games in the buildings’ many galleries, you’re guaranteed to get into the Halloween spirit just in time for trick or treating. Costumes are encouraged, and you can bring a pillowcase to decorate for even more fun. This is one family outing that you won’t want to miss this year!
