As an Exclusive Buyer’s Broker in the Columbus, OH area, I get asked this question a lot. I work with buyer-clients on regularly who are interested in moving to Columbus or one of the surrounding areas, and its part of my job to show them why this city is such a great place to live. Besides the fact that you can get a mixture of small town and metropolitan lifestyles here, there are a multitude of other reasons why Columbus is a fantastic place to live for so many. Since I’m focused in getting people to move to the area, not away from here, I make it a priority to know everything I can about all of the communities in Metro Columbus.

Whenever I’m showing my buyer-clients around Columbus, Worthington, or any of the other surrounding communities, I always make sure to be as informative as possible. Any information that I can tell a client about an area, I share. I also make sure to let them know what elements of the community best support their individual needs. Here are five of the elements that I find myself talking about most frequently:

1.    We’re nationally recognized as a great place to live. The city of Columbus has been consistently ranked as one of the best places to live by CNN Money magazine. These rankings are based on important things like affordability, crime rate and quality of schools, all of which are crucial to those who are looking to relocate. The national recognition the city has received is only part of what makes it such an attractive option to my buyer-clients.

2.    There are a number of universities in the area. The Columbus metropolitan area is home to 25 different colleges and universities, including the nationally-renowned The Ohio State University. This makes the area attractive to a variety of people, from students to professors to families who are looking for a variety of local college options for their kids. It adds an element of diversity to the community.

3.    It’s got a friendly, Midwest quality. People all over the country love the openness and friendliness that typically characterizes the Midwest, and in Columbus, you get that coupled with a lifestyle that accompanies a more urban setting. It’s the best of both worlds.

4.    There is no better location. Situated smack-dab in the middle of the Midwest, Columbus is a one day car ride or one hour flight away from about half of the country’s population. Not bad, eh? This makes it all the easier for friends and family to come and visit you.

5.    There is ample opportunity for employment. While some areas in the country are still feeling the strains of low job rates, in Columbus, you have a multitude of major Fortune 1,000 Companies to work for. The local economy is made up of a diverse number of industries, making it the perfect location for those who are looking to break in to a business.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. There are a number of different reasons our buyer-clients choose to buy a home on the Columbus real estate market. As an Exclusive Buyer’s Broker in the area, I think that it’s important to point out its best qualities in order to help my clients find the neighborhood that will work well for their needs. If you have any questions about the Columbus, OH area, or if you want to know more about it, don’t hesitate to contact me and ask. I’d be happy to tell you more about it. I hope to hear from you soon!
