Over half of the respondents said that the #1 reason they did not buy a home, is because they could not find the right property.

This isn’t a matter of home buyers being too picky. Instead, it indicates that potential home buyers are not finding a suitable home in their price range, in their desired area.

Columbus home inventory remains lean as distressed properties disappear, and existing home owners sit tight. Homeowners who bought at the peak of the market, with zero-down or low-down payment loans, still lack sufficient equity to sell at a profit. Low home inventory and higher prices also prevents some would-be sellers from trading up to a newer or larger home.
