As an Exclusive Buyer’s Broker in the Columbus area, I absolutely have to place a strong emphasis on community in my day-to-day life. I help all of Columbus and its surrounding areas with their home buyer needs. Whenever one of my clients moves to a new neighborhood, I encourage them to get involved in it because that’s the best way for them to meet people and become familiar with their new hometown. A large part of getting involved in your community is giving back to those in need and taking the appropriate steps to make your neighborhood a better place to live.

This month, the city of Columbus, in partnership with United Way, is inviting the area’s residents to participate in a city-wide Volunteer Challenge. The goal of this 16 day event is to spotlight service and emphasize its effect on building a stronger, more supportive community. All audiences are invited to participate! Whether you’re a teen, religious community, non-profit organization or a young professional, you can help our city band together to make the area a much better place to live.

Here are the different phases of the Volunteer Challenge. Whether you participate in one of them or all of them, you’ll be making an impact on our city.

August 25th–Columbus Volunteer Challenge: Family Day
This is the event that will kick off this two and a half week challenge, and you can spend it with the people that you love the most! Families, groups, individuals and volunteers from corporate and faith-based organizations are invited to participate in this one day event, taking place at various sites around the Columbus metropolitan area.

August 26th-September 10th—The Days of Engagement
Individuals in the area can participate in a number of volunteer opportunities and daily calls to action that will involve ongoing commitments throughout the ten days. It’s a fantastic way to throw your energy in to helping one cause that you’re incredibly passionate about. Nonprofit and faith-based organizations are encouraged to create a full calendar of volunteer events that the public can participate in, as well!

September 11th—Community Care Day: National Day of Service
Whether you’re passionate about painting, wild for landscaping or want to put your administrative skills to work, you can help several nonprofits in the community on the closing day of the Volunteer Challenge. Sponsored by the United Way of Central Ohio, this is an opportunity to put your talents to work for a local organization that you care about.

It’s events like the Volunteer Challenge that make Columbus and its surrounding communities such a strong area to live in. The residents are dedicated to making their respective neighborhoods better. As an Exclusive Buyer’s Broker, I help several families get settled in to a new hometown each year. I think that participating in events such as this one helps newcomers become familiar with their new neighborhood and get involved in the community quickly.

If you have any questions about buying a home in the Columbus area, don’t hesitate to contact me and ask. You can also view some of our informational videos about the local market at any time. I hope to hear from you soon!
