Additionally, there are about a dozen golf courses near Westerville, and two reservoir parks offering boating and water recreation. Hoover Reservoir is popular for sailing and fishing. Alum Creek Reservoir rests within Alum Creek State Park, and is appropriate for motor boating and water-skiing in the southern section. Campsites are available on the west shore.

Schools in Westerville enjoy a good reputation. Westerville-South High School received a Silver award by U.S. News and World Report, ranking #82 in Ohio and #1602 nationally. Westerville City Schools are recognized for having “What Parents Want” by SchoolMatch, Inc. They are also the recipients of 15 “BEST” Awards (Building Excellent Schools for Today) for innovative educational programs.
